Jackie Hirschhaut, vice president of public relations for the American Home Furnishings Alliance, is recognized throughout the furniture industry for her thorough knowledge of all aspects of the U.S. furniture business as well as for her sharp analysis of consumer and home furnishings trends.
As head of consumer marketing and public relations for AHFA the nation's largest trade association for furniture manufacturers Jackie serves as liaison to more than 750 journalists covering the biannual High Point Market in High Point, N.C. In this capacity, she ensures that the media receives the latest news, trends and statistics on home furnishings, one of the United States' most dynamic industries. Jackie is the voice of AHFA to consumers, the media, government and related industry groups.
A former journalist, Jackie served as editor-in-chief of Elegant Bride for more than nine years and held several editorial posts at Furniture Today, the predominant trade newspaper for the furniture industry. During her tenure at Furniture Today, Jackie received the 27th Annual Editorial Award presented by the Dallas Market Center for excellence in trade journalism in the furniture industry. She began her career as a buyer at Woodward & Lothrop in Washington, D.C., following graduation from the University of Rhode Island with degrees in journalism and marketing.
Jackie currently serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of With-It (Women In The Home Industries Today), an advocacy organization for professional women in the home furnishings industry; the Board of Directors of the Furniture Discovery Center in High Point, N.C.; the Advisory Board of Bauder College in Atlanta; and the Furniture Industry Advisory Council of Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C.
