
America's "empty nesters" parents whose children have grown and flown the coop are now exploring their own opportunities and interests, rediscovering and rebuilding their nests in a style that is uniquely their own.
According to a recent survey of more than 1,000 empty nesters, the American Furniture Manufacturers Association (AFMA) uncovered their housing and home decorating trends, including what most likely will happen to Junior's old room after he moves out. About half of America's growing number of empty nesters will use their newfound time, space and money for home remodeling and redecorating many will even move.
